How PixelBrief makes money, and the rules that stop it from changing what the sheets say.
Some of the links on this site are partner links. If you follow one and start a paid plan, this site may receive a commission from the vendor. It costs you nothing — the price is the same as going direct — and it is the only way this site is funded.
Every such link goes through a redirect on this domain rather than appearing as a raw tracking URL in the text, so you can always see where a link points before you follow it. Links marked this way carry the standard sponsored attribution.
The rules
- Commission never moves a score. Rankings are set on fidelity, control and handoff, and the commercial terms are not an input.
- Criticism is not softened for partners. The longest list of drawbacks on this site belongs to the highest-ranked tool.
- Tools without a partner programme are covered anyway where they deserve a place — one of the six on the main schedule earns nothing at all.
- No vendor sees a review before publication, and none has copy approval.
- Prices are quoted from the vendor's own page, not from a partner portal, and dated.
Why this arrangement and not another
The alternatives are worse. Display advertising would put unrelated tracking on every page and pay by volume rather than usefulness. Sponsorship would create an obligation to a specific vendor. A subscription would mean a paywall on the pricing facts that people most need.
Affiliate commission aligns reasonably well with the reader's interest as long as one condition holds: that the recommendation has to be right for the reader to act on it. A site that recommends the wrong tool gets one commission and no second visit.
What this means when you read a sheet
Treat every recommendation as an argument to be checked rather than a conclusion to be accepted. The reasoning is shown precisely so it can be disagreed with, and the prices are dated precisely so you can verify them. If a claim here does not survive contact with the vendor's own pricing page, tell us and it will be corrected.
